Anthony was born in the Dec. quarter 1880, Burnley. The son of Martin Diamond and ?? McCale.

In the 1911 census Anthony was a boarder with his sister Mary Ann Diamond who was married to Mr. William Atkinson of 13 Cog Lane. Anthony was single and a labourer at the colliery.

We learn from Anthony’s Army Register of Effects, that he left them to his father, Martin and sister Mary Ann Atkinson. I cannot find anything else about him, possibly he had been a soldier in the T.A. as he was in the war from the start.

Anthony lived at 13 Cog Lane, Burnley.

Anthony is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium: Panel 5 & 6.
