From the Burnley News dated 28th August 1915: BURNLEY CATHOLIC BOYS. A REMARKABLE REUNION.

Members of the Burnley Catholic Boys Brigade are doing credit to their Brigade and to themselves in the war. Out of 130 of them 50 are in the army. There was a remarkable meeting of 9 of them at the Dardanelles recently, and Private Paddy Gibbons of Anne Street, who is now wounded and in hospital at Alexandria, writes of the meeting as follows: "just a line to let you know of a little reunion we had out here yesterday Saturday July 31st. You would be surprised to see the number of St Mary's lads out here. I and Kay had just come out of the trenches after being relieved when Dick and Martin Stanton came round. There was also James Burke, Pinder, and Johnny Hannay, besides Fallows and Jimmy Walsh so you see we could easily raise a football team from St Mary's Out here. I believe Bob Dyson and Bannister are on their way out also. We had a good chat about old times and all join in sending our best wishes. Hoping you are in the pink as we all are".
