The Welsh regiments have been mentioned lately in communications for gallantry and a Burnley lad in the Welsh Regiment, 61038, Private Roger Feeley whose parents live at 10 Thursfield Rd., Burnley, is one of them to lay down his life. He was only 19 years of age and died of wounds on August 28th. Private Feeley enlisted on March 5 1917, and went out on December 5th last. Previously he was a labour at the Gasworks and was connected with St Mary's RC Church and a member of the Men's Sodality there. The family would be glad of any information as to how he was fatally wounded.

Private R Feeley has two brothers in the army. One is John, in Ireland being with the AVC owing to wounds received in action; whilst Michael is in training. There are also two cousins serving, one at Salonika, and the other in the United States Navy.
