Private John Henry Lord

Killed in Action 29th March 1917, aged 23.

John was born in the Sept quarter of 1894 in Burnley. The son of George Henry Lord and Mary Julia Ashworth. In the 1901 census the family lived at 29 Crowther St, Burnley. George 38 miner born in Whitworth, Rochdale, Lancs. Mary 46, John 7 and Charles 2 all born in Burnley.

In the 1911 census the family had moved to 80 Brockenhurst St Burnley. George 48, Mary 56, John 17 weaver and Charles 12, spending half his time at school and the other half weaving. His parents had been married 19 years with 2 surviving children.

Lived at 11 Cleaver Street.

John left his effects to his parents, George Henry and Mary Julia.

John was buried in Faubourg d'Amiens Cemetery, France: Grave Ref; III.L.19. Son of George Henry and Mary Julia Lord, of 24, Ribblesdale St., Burnley.
