Private Frank McNally.
74714 13th Royal Fusiliers.
Killed in Action 23rd August 1916. Aged 18.
From the Burnley Express dated 7th September 1918: Joined Three Times at 18 .
Mrs Danson 10 St James Street Brierfield, has been informed that her son Private Frank McNally, G/74714, Royal Fusiliers was killed in action on August 23rd. He was only 18 years of age. Private McNally went away and enlisted at the age of 15, but was afterwards discharged on account of his age. He again enlisted a year later, and was this time discharged through sickness. He however joined up again. And was retained in the ranks. He was connected with Holy Trinity RC Church, Brierfield.
Lived at 157 Brunshaw Road.
Frank left his effects to his mother Margaret Danson.
Frank was buried in Achiet Le Grand Communal Cemetery, France: Grave Ref; F.III.E.10.
