Thomas was born in the June quarter of 1887 in Burnley. The son of Denis Traynor, and Mary O’Shea. In the 1891 census the family lived at B… Clough, Worsthorne, Burnley. Denis 32 an excavator born in Ireland. Mary 29, Kate 9 both, born in Ireland, Thomas 4 and Margaret 2 months. According to this census were born in Newcastle, Northumberland but from the GRO Thomas’s birth was registered in Bury.
During the census of 91 and 1901 Thomas’s father, Denis had died and his mother re-married George Garton. The family in this census lived at 6 Alma St, Burnley. George Garton 35, Mary 37, Kate Traynor 18 weaver and Thomas 14 window cleaner. Margaret 10, George Garton 5, and Alexander Garton 3.
In the 1911 census the family lived at 3 Brockenhurst St, Burnley. George 41, Mary 46, George Garton 15, Alexander 13, Roseanna Garton 8, Catherine Traynor 28, Margaret Traynor 20, Thomas 23, Dennis 6 and Thomas 3, grandsons of Mary. Mary and George had been married 17 years and had 3 children 1 of whom had died.
Thomas married Gertrude Dearden on the 17th Feb 1917 in St James Church, Burnley.

The death from wounds occurred in France on October 27th of Private Thomas Traynor of the 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers, whose home was at 82 Lyndhurst Road Burnley. He was 31 years of age and went out over 12 months ago, having joined in 1916. He was formerly assistant salesman for Mr J Stuttard, Greengrocer, Manchester Road, and attended St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. He had been previously wounded and was sent to Whalley Hospital.
Lived at 82 Lyndhurst Rd.
Thomas left his effects to his widow Gertrude.
Thomas was buried in Etaples Military Cemetery, France: Grave Ref; LXXI.F.24. Son of Thomas and Mary Traynor, of Burnley; husband of Gertrude Traynor, of 51, Brunshaw Rd., Burnley.
