Isaiah was born in the Sept quarter of 1897 in Burnley. The son of Isaiah Turner and Miss Walsh.

In the 1911 census Isaiah’s family lived at 96 Hufling Lane, Burnley. Isaiah 40 a widower and a miner who was born in Wolverhampton, Warwickshire. Isaiah 14 miner, Hannah 15 weaver, Daniel 11, John Wm 8 and Catherine 9. All the children were born in Burnley.

 

From The Express and Advertiser dated 20th October 1915: DRAWER'S DEATH. SAD NEWS FOR BURNLEY WIDOWER.

Mr Isaiah Turner widower, of 96 Hufling Lane Burnley, on Monday received the sad intimation from the War Office that his eldest son Private Isaiah Turner, of the 10th Battalion Scottish rifles, died on September 25th from wounds received in action.  Private Turner, who was only 18 years of age, was formerly a drawer at Towneley Colliery and enlisted on December 27th last. He was connected with St Mary's RC Church. Mr Turner's brother George is with the Blackburn Artillery, and his brother-in-law in France with the ASC.

Lived at 96 Hufling Lane.

Isiah left his effects to his father Isiah and Great Aunt Miss Fanny Turner.

Isaiah was buried in Philosophe British Cemetery, France: Grave Ref; III.O.2.
