From the Burnley Express dated 25th November 1914: BURNLEY NATIVE KILLED

In our issue of Wednesday we quoted a letter written by Corporal T. Barnes, of the 1st East Lancashire Regiment, in which he described how his Brother, Sergt. John Barnes was killed.  He also mentioned that four Sergeants, including "Chick" Brennan, had been killed in the same trenches.  Sergt. Brennan was a native of Burnley, his people at one time living in the Burnley Lane district.  He leaves a widow and family, who reside at Colchester.

Commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium - Panel 5 & 6
