Private Edward Brown.

Died of appendicitis 2nd November 1916, aged 19.

Edward was born about 1897 in Burnley, the son of Frank and Caroline Brown, his father was a coal miner and a native of Leyburn in Yorkshire. Caroline was a Burnley girl.

In the 1901 census the family lived at 2 Ship Alley, Burnley. Frank 38, Caroline 30, Edward 4 and Frank 7 months.

In 1911 they still lived at 2 Ship Alley and they had a new sister called Emily. His parents had been married for 15 years and had had 4 children, 1 of whom had died.

Lived at 3 Job Street.

Edward was buried in Burnley Cemetery: Screen Wall. 8367.
