Frederick was born in the June quarter of 1882. The son of Uriah King and Elizabeth Smith. In the 1891 census the family was living at 24 Coke St, Burnley. Uriah a plate moulder was 35 and born in Hugden, Bedfordshire, Elizabeth 35 born in Well borough, Northants, along with her son George 12. Frederick 8, Arthur 5, Edith 3 and Albert 1 all born in Burnley.

Fred married Bridget Boyle in the March quarter of 1905 in Burnley.

In the 1911 census The family were living at 7 Clock St, Burnley. Fred 28, Bridget 24, Mary Elizabeth 5, Edith 2, his brother George 32 a widower along with George’s 2 sons, harry 13 and Fred 11.

 

From the Burnley Express dated 8th September 1918: BURNLEY CORPORAL DIES OF WOUNDS.

News is to hand that corporal Frederick King 34551, East Lancashire’s whose address is 7 Clock Street Burnley, has died of wounds which were received on May 11th in France. Corporal king who is married and 35 years of age was 6 years in the Militia, and was in South Africa 2 years. He joined up again 12 months last May, and was previously wounded before Christmas. His father resides at 34 Stafford Street and his wife and three children live at 7 Clock Street. He was formerly a machine moulder at Coopers and is on the roll of honour at Lane Bridge School, being a former member of the cricket club there. Two brothers are serving.

 

Lived at 7 Clock Street.

Frederick left his effects to his widow Bridget.

Frederick was buried in Burnley Cemetery, England: Grave Ref; Screen Wall. A6676. Husband of Bridget King, of 7, Clock St., Burnley.
