Private John McCluskey. 

19518 2nd East Lancashire Regiment.

Killed in Action 16th June 1915. Aged 35.

John was born in the June quarter of 1880 in Burnley. The son of James McCluskey and Winnifred Tierney.  In the 1891 census the family lived at 4 Kay St, Burnley. James 40 labourer born in Ireland, Winnifred 36, James 11, Isabella 6, Thomas 3, all born in Manchester and John 1 born in Burnley.

By the 1901 census they had moved to 12 Kay St. James 55, Winifred 50, James 21 miner, Bella 17 weaver, Thomas 13, John 11, and Margaret 7.

John Left his effects to his sister Isabella Murton.

John was buried in Euston Post Cemetery, Laventie, France: Grave Ref; D.2.
